The Return & Refund Policy

Returns

  • Eligibility: Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase. Items must be unused, in their original condition, and include the original packaging.
  • Documentation: A receipt or proof of purchase is required to process any return.

Non-Returnable Items:

  • Outlet items are sold as described and are not eligible for returns.

Partial Refunds: Partial refunds may be granted for:

  • Items not in original condition, damaged, or missing parts (unless the issue was due to our error).
  • Items returned more than 30 days after delivery.

Non-Fault Returns

  • Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs for non-fault returns (e.g., change of mind, incompatibility or misuse of the item).
  • A 10% restocking fee applies to non-fault returns and change of mind returns.
  • In case you change your mind regarding a placed order, a 2% transaction fee will apply to all orders. This is due to Shopify's policy of not refunding us the transaction fee for processing payments. Therefore any orders that have been placed and cancelled due to change of mind or no fault of our own will incur a 2% deduction from the refund. 

Fault-Related Returns

  • If a customer returns a camera claiming it is faulty, but it is determined to be in working condition upon inspection, a 10% restocking fee will be deducted from the refund cost.

Missed Deliveries

  • If a customer fails to receive a parcel because they were not home during delivery attempts, they will be responsible for paying additional postage fees to have the parcel redelivered.
  • If the customer opts to leave the parcel returned instead of redelivering, a 10% restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.

Warranty

All products include:

  • 30-day warranty for electronic issues.
  • 3-month warranty for mechanical issues 
  • 30-day warranty for all point and shoot models


  • Warranty Exclusions:
  • Outlet items are not covered under warranty.
  • Damage caused by improper use, accidents, or external factors (e.g., water, sand, dropping). Examples include:
    • Broken battery doors.
    • Lens or body damage due to impact.
    • Water or sand infiltration.

For valid claims, we’ll repair or replace the camera within 14 working days. Camera needs to be posted to us. If a customer changes their mind after the camera has been inspected by us and confirmed to be in working condition and asks for a refund  a 10% restocking fee will be deducted  from the full refund cost.

Warranty starts from the moment the camera has been marked as delivered.

Refunds

  • Refunds are processed after receiving and inspecting returned items.
  • If approved, the refund will be issued to the original payment method within a few days.


Late or Missing Refunds:
If you haven’t received your refund:

  1. Check your bank account and contact your credit card company (processing times may vary).
  2. Contact your bank for further updates.
  3. If you still have not received your refund, email us at returns@vintagecamerahut.com

Sale/Outlet Items

Sale and outlet items are non-refundable.


Gifts

If the item was marked as a gift, a gift credit will be issued upon return. If the gift giver had the item shipped to themselves, the refund will go to them. A 2% transaction fee will apply to all orders. This is due to Shopify's policy of not refunding us the transaction fee for processing payments. Therefore any orders that are cancelled will incur a 2% deduction from the full refund amount. 


Exchanges

International Orders and Import Taxes
For our valued customers purchasing from outside the UK, please be aware that you are responsible for any import taxes or duties that may apply. These charges are not included in the item price or shipping costs and must be paid by the recipient upon delivery. Different countries have varied policies regarding customs and import taxes, so we recommend checking with your local customs office for detailed information. At Vintage Camera Hut, we strive to make the purchasing process as smooth as possible, but we're unable to control these external charges.
